A place to find out about Networking in Cornwall
According to Technorati, this is one of over 5 million blogs being tracked across the world. The point of this one is to be read over a much smaller area - Cornwall in the South West corner of England.

Networking is a very good way of building business contacts and creating advocates and there are many places where networking can be found actively in Cornwall. This blog will attempt to track and record all of the networking groups and their events and provide a focus for that information.

As co-Leader of Ecademy Cornwall, I can provide the information about networking with other Ecademy members and I will be seeking out leaders of other networking groups (they aren't hard to find - they are at most networking events anyway) so that I can represent their groups and events on here. I will also include or point to resources that help networking either by showing the benefits (so as to persuade reluctant bosses) and to help networkers improve their style and success rates.

Networking is not selling. Rather it is about meeting pleasant people in a, usually, pleasant location and having multiple conversations during a breakfast, lunch or evening. Those conversations may trigger ideas immediately or they may be very slow acting and only work months later. It is about knowing people rather than knowing job titles and being much better able to recommend them to others or to find suitable opportunities for them. If they have done the same with you, they will also be out there with your needs and skills in their memory and they can advocate you in the right places. Without any of the classic 'closing' moves, you have a sales force working for you.
